Within the Ranch, there are several rivers and streams with deep basins of crystalline water. Every year, we introduce large numbers of Rainbow trout eggs for sport fishing lovers.
Rainbow trouts are characterized by their small head and their long torpedo-shaped body, with two dorsal fins, being the smallest one of adipose tissue exclusively.
These trouts have a bright color, bluish to greenish towards the flanks, and silver-white on their belly. In the middle part of its sides, Rainbows have a longitudinal purple or reddish stripe.
This coloration, though typical of this species, may vary from one trout to the other, and may even disappear in some cases. These are commonly known as "Silver" trouts.
There is also another important variation in terms of color, in relation to the spawning season; mature specimens are darker and pigmented. All its body has small dark spots, which spread towards the tail and fins. Trouts generally feed on insects, mollusks, crustaceans and fish.
